What I’m Reading This Week #34

Each week I share books I’m reading for my Read 100 Challenge, as well as podcasts I’m listening to and links I love from around the blogosphere.  I love to get recommendations, so please let me know what you are reading!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I’ve been taking advantage of the slower pace of vacation to spend some time with family and read a little.

Books I’m Reading

bronte plot

The Bronte Plot by Katherine Reay

I really enjoyed reading Dear Mr. Knightley and was looking forward to another Katherine Reay novel.  In The Bronte Plot, Lucy is in the antiques business and enjoys working with rare books.  When she meets James, she has no idea of the twist her life will take.  She discovers her past, travels to England, and tries to rewrite her own story.  A fun read!

where she went

Where She Went by Gayle Forman

Where She Went is the sequel to the best-seller If I Stay.  In this installment of the series, Adam has gotten all that he ever wanted, but he lost Mia.  They meet by chance for one day and try to see if their lives can reconnect.  I preferred the first book, but found this a compelling sequel.

Deep South by Paul Theroux — We are 2/3 of the way through this. Really good when he sticks to the travelogue.
Wildwood: A Journey through Trees by Roger Deakin — Beautiful words. I don’t know how to express how beautiful the words and phrases are.
The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom — Excellent so far. I’m listening to this and the reader’s voice is amazing.

What type of literature is Wildwood? It sounds quite interesting!
