What I’m Reading This Week

Each week I hope to share the books that I am currently reading for my Read 100 Challenge, as well as interesting links related to faith, family, and frugal living.

Books I’m Reading

The Trial of Job by Fr. Patrick Henry Reardon

This is an excellent commentary on the Book of Job from an Orthodox perspective.  I am taking my time with it because I am reading Job along with it.  I am enjoying truly digging into the wisdom, anguish, and hope of this biblical narrative.

The Way of the Pilgrim translated by Olga Savin

Would you believe that I have never read this classic of Orthodox spirituality?  I just began reading it today and have already been challenged.  I will read only The  Way of the Pilgrim during Holy Week in order to help prepare myself for Christ’s Passion and Resurrection.

Hands Free Mama by Rachel Macy Stafford

I had heard only rave reviews about this book, and now I see why.  Stafford realized that her devices, to-do list, and perfection obsession were robbing her of the joy of motherhood.  She began a hands free change in her own life, which she channeled into a wildly successful blog.
