Weekly Goals June 8

Happy Monday!  This is my first Monday of the summer, though, technically, I still have three days of professional development to attend.

I love the beginning of the summer.  It seems so open, full of possibilities.

This week my husband and I will be going on our first ever vacation without children!  Our 7th anniversary is next Sunday, so the timing is perfect! We will leave on Wednesday evening and get back on Monday.  This seems like the ultimate luxury (although we are just going to one of his conferences together and not to some exotic location 🙂 ).

While my husband is attending all sorts of lectures on theology, I will be writing, reading, and relaxing.  My goals for this week reflect that extra time of focused work.

My goals last week were:

Spiritual

1. Pray the Morning Prayers together 5 mornings

2. Finish the book of Romans  (I still have some more to go.  I will finish Romans this week!)

Professional

3. Say a personal, heartfelt good-bye to each of my wonderful students

Family/ Homemaking

4. Give the house a thorough clean before my husband gets home

5. Have the kids make “Welcome Home Daddy” signs and cards

6. Play a board game with Big Brother and Sister

7. Read to the kids 4 nights

Personal

8. Read 2 books (See what I was reading last week in this post.)

9. Be in bed by 10 each night

10. Complete all blog posts by Thursday so that I can spend time with my husband when he returns

This week’s goals:

Spiritual

1. Pray the Morning Prayers together as a family 4 mornings

2. Finish the book of Romans (really, I will!)

Professional:

3. Complete my end of year checklist and room clean up

Family/ Homemaking:

4. Play a board game as a family

5. Enjoy a vacation alone with my husband!

6. Weed the flower garden

7. Catch up on laundry

Personal:

8. Read 3 books (I’m bringing these books with me on vacation:  Behind Every Great Man: Forgotten Women Behind the World’s Famous and Infamous,   The Mother-Daughter Book Club,   100 Days of Real Food, and Deep Down Dark: The Untold Stories of 33 Men Buried in a Chilean Mine.)

9. Write 8 blog posts

10. Begin work on my book!!! (More on this later!)

What are your goals for the week?
