Weekly Goals June 15

I am writing this post while in a hotel room on a child-free vacation.  My husband and I have had a blast together over these past few days!  We are celebrating our 7th anniversary with a getaway (to one of his theological conferences, not some exotic location!).

While he is attending lectures and seminars, I have been reading, sleeping, and writing.  That makes this girl pretty happy!

We will return home soon and see our children.  I am looking forward to starting the summer as a family, especially now that I feel rested and refreshed.

Here were my goals last week:

Spiritual

1. Pray the Morning Prayers together as a family 4 mornings  (Um, epic fail on this one.  Once school ended, our Morning Routine has been a little off.  We need to adjust it so that we can get back into the habit of praying together to start our day.  Any suggestions?)

2. Finish the book of Romans (really, I will!)

Professional:

3. Complete my end of year checklist and room clean up

Family/ Homemaking:

4. Play a board game as a family

5. Enjoy a vacation alone with my husband!

6. Weed the flower garden

7. Catch up on laundry

Personal:

8. Read 3 books (You can read more about the books I read here.)

9. Write 8 blog posts

10. Begin work on my book!!! (I think I overestimated the amount of time I would have to work on vacation.  Between spending time with my husband, reading, and doing some blog work, I wasn’t able to start my book.  However, now that I am a bit ahead on my blog work, I hope to write during the evenings over the next couple of months.)

This Week’s Goals:

Spiritual:

1. Pray the Morning Prayers together 4 mornings

2. Read 8 chapters of I Corinthians

Professional:

3. Develop my curriculum and daily routine for Summer School, which begins next week

Family/ Homemaking:

4. Create our summer routine

5. Start swimming lessons with Big Brother

6. Take children on a small outing (park, library, etc.) 3 days this week

7. Declutter kids’ room and donate unused items

8. Weed garden

Personal:

9. Read 2 books (I have three books checked out right now: Behind Every Great Man: Forgotten Women Behind the World’s Famous and Infamous,   100 Days of Real Food, and Deep Down Dark: The Untold Stories of 33 Men Buried in a Chilean Mine.)

10. Work on my book 2 nights.

Good luck on your goals this week! I only have one goal for this week and that is to get to bed no later than 10pm. I doubt I’ll make it. 🙂

Getting to bed early is a great goal! I’m better at it some weeks than others 🙂

I will have to check that out! I have been putting a bunch of books on hold at our library lately. I’ll add this to the list!

Welcome!
