Weekly Goals: August 24

Hello and happy Monday!   It has been a very fun week here in our house.

It was the first week of school, which means it was like Christmas for teachers.  I have 72 new 7th graders, and I am so excited to get to know them better.  My daughter also turns 3 this week, and we had her birthday party last night.  It was a lovely, simple party with a few friends.  You can read more about Why We Have Simple Birthdays and Tips for a Frugal Birthday Party.

This week looks to be a bit more low key.  We will continue to get used to our school routine (does anyone else take weeks to get into theirs?) and keep outside commitments at a minimum.

Last Week’s Goals:

Spiritual:

1. Morning Prayers 4 Days (We did not make this goal.  I hope to get into our routine a bit better this week.  It seemed like we were rushing quite a bit this past week!)

2. Read Colossians

Professional:

3. Complete lesson plans for first week of school

4. Learn all 72 of my new students’ names  (I work really hard at memorizing my students’ names quickly.  I want them to know that they matter to me, and I can’t do that if I forget their name.)

Family/ Homemaking:

5. Play a game with Big Brother (He is really into checkers right now.  I love it when kids graduate to games that adults enjoy, too!)

6. Color with Sister (We didn’t color this week.  But, we did have some tea parties.  I think I’ll go ahead and count that as quality time!)

7. Read to Little Brother

8. Get back into our Morning Routine (More or less…)

Personal:

9.  Read 2 Books (I am really excited that I got The Astronaut Wives Club from the library!) (You can read all about the 3 books I read here.)

10. Have one coffee date with a friend

This Week’s Goals:

Spiritual:

1. Morning Prayers 3 Days as a Family

2. Read I Thessalonians

Professional:

3. Grade Beginning of the Year Assessments

4. Make Parent E-mail groups and send first e-mail

Family/ Homemaking:

5. Have an in-house date night with my husband

6. Have a movie night with the kids

7. Sort through kids’ clothes and get bags ready to take to consignment shop

Personal:

8. Run 2 times

9. Be in bed by 10 each night

10. Read 2 books

What are your goals for the week?
